Gamma becomes a part of Ubiqus Group

Ubiqus announces the purchase of Société Gamma Inc. in Ottawa, Canada
Gamma is a translation firm that has been operating for almost 40 years, serving primarily governments and public institutions in Canada.
As with previous acquisitions, Ubiqus has retained the existing management team, whose objective will be to increase Gamma’s annual sales of CAD 7 million.
Gamma will expand Ubiqus Group’s North American presence by adding to the services of Ubiqus Group’s two U.S. subsidiaries (in New York on the east coast and in Irvine, California, on the west coast).
1991–2011: 20 years of steady growth
In its 20-year history, Ubiqus has quietly grown from a very small minute-writing company in Paris into an international group of companies with close to EUR 55 million in annual sales, more than ten different services, and offices in eight countries.
Ubiqus tends to be a behind-the-scenes player rather than an attention seeker: “[translation] We put our clients centre stage and let our high-quality work and good service speak for themselves. It’s by word of mouth that we’ve gained many of our new clients,” says Ubiqus president Vincent Nguyen.
Being discrete does not mean lacking ambition, however. In 20 years, Ubiqus has expanded steadily through both aggressive sales and growth by acquisition, with some 15 purchases.
The acquisitions have enabled Ubiqus to diversify its range of services to include not only writing, but also translation, communications (name badges and electronic voting systems) and, most recently, event software.
